Finance Manager
Part-time | Leicester
Working exclusively with a well-established creative agency in Leicester, Paul Mitchell Associates is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the company's financial affairs on a part-time, permanent basis.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for running the accounts function, maintaining compliance, accurately monitoring the Company's financial position, producing monthly management reports to the board, assisting with budgets and improving profitability on an ongoing basis.
The Role
As the newly appointed Finance Manager you will:
- Prepare and issue the Company Sales Summary, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Report on a quarterly basis ensuring that all are accurate and correct.
- Prepare Company annual budgets with the Board.
- Prepare and issue Company Management Accounts and conform to all statutory requirements.
- Maintain and balance all Books of Account.
- Manage Cash effectively.
- Ensure the security of Company information at all times.
- Manage the Sales Ledger and cash collection in accordance with terms and conditions.
- Manage the Purchase Ledger and oversee supplier base management.
- Manage the Credit Control function and advise on customer / supplier creditworthiness as required making key decisions.
- Company Control expenditure as appropriate to achieve budgeted figures.
- Manage employee Salary scheme and National Insurance.
- Manage Company Pension scheme and contributions.
- Compile, complete and submit Company PAYE reports in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Compile, complete and submit Company VAT reports in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Prepare and complete Company Annual Statutory Reports and submit to Companies House in accordance with requirements.
- Manage Company's Annual Insurance Policies in line with requirements.
- Audit and summarise employee expense claims accurately.
- Audit and oversee management and control of supplier charges and purchasing on an ongoing basis ensuring that agreements with suppliers are confirmed in writing.
- Oversee and check estimates on costing sheets as appropriate.
- Oversee and check quotes to customers ensuring that these are both competitive and meet Company goals in margin terms as appropriate.
- Manage Company's IT System.
- Prepare project reconciliations on complete projects, identifying areas of weakness and improvement.
Measurement Criteria
The success of the Finance Manager will be measured on:
- All documentation issued on time
- All documentation and reports accurate with no errors
- Continued marked improvements in Gross Margin
- Control of SG&A within all budgets
- Delivery of budget performance plus consistently
- Decisions made are creditable, sound and sensible
The Right Person
Applications are invited from ACCA and CIMA qualified or QBE Accountants who demonstrate:
- Proficiency using Sage Line 50 & Sage Payroll
- An ability to produce accurate and informative data all the time
- A willingness to analyse Company performance and suggest improvements consistently
- A desire to see the Company succeed and to assist whenever required
- A high degree of competence in the analysis and production of numbers
- Maintain a professional image and high standards at all times
- Communicate internally and externally both clearly and consistently
- Believe totally in the principle of delivering excellence in customer service standards

In return, the Finance Manager will be offered:
- Appointment Type: Permanent
- Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 pro rata for hours worked (subject to experience)
- Hours: Part-time, 5 hours per week (hours may increase in line with demand)
