A unique and exciting, newly created opportunity for a pro-active, driven Finance Auditor to join a high-growth Services business based in Warrington. The focus of Internal Audit work is driven by the protection of revenue and the safeguarding of assets at all Operating Units. The role will assist the Internal Audit Manager in the successful delivery of the Internal Audit Annual Plan and other reactive work arising during the year.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Create, deliver, and embed Financial Integrity policies and procedures across the business.
  • Conduct Risk Based site visits and interventions across the Business.
  • Review financial operations and credit control measures across the Business commenting on your observations and possible risks.
  • Perform effective operational audits using the defined audit programme, being objective in determining where further work outside of the initial scope may be required.
  • Suggest and influence changes to the content of the approved workplan based on perception of newly identified risks.
  • Support in the review of health and safety management across the Business, recognising where key risks are not being managed effectively and raising relevant actions to address the weaknesses.
  • Question the financial integrity of cash and banking processes, stocktakes and audits.
  • Query and raise inconsistencies found in financial practices.
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice for colleagues and the wider businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with the company policies and best practice, consulting on the adequacy and appropriateness of the company policies as and when required.
  • Liaise with the Business Systems team and the Regional teams to obtain useful data for analysis and interpretation.
  • Assist with the development and effective operation of the Internal Audit team through innovative ways of working and sharing best practice.
  • Maintain awareness of latest regulation changes and updates affecting the sector which may warrant an update in local policies.
  • Foster effective working relationships within the Internal Audit team, other colleagues but also employees Regionally.
  • Liaise with external auditors and representatives of newly acquired businesses, maintaining a professional and productive working relationship.
  • Preparation and delivery of adhoc, monthly and quarterly audit reports, presenting actions to improve risk management, safeguard assets and generate revenue and cost savings.
  • Conduct follow up audits to monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of management actions.
  • Perform any other tasks deemed appropriate by the Internal Audit Manager to support the business.
 Skills / Experience (Essential)
  • Minimum two years working within an Internal Audit environment, or similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Full Driving Licence.
 Skills / Experience (Desired)
  • Use of audit software to document and report on audits.
  • Financial qualifications and/or experience of working within a Financial/Health and Safety environment.
  • Performed and/or observed financial investigations at a similar business.
  • Familiarity with data analysis techniques/software.

  • High level of integrity.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and compile detailed reports.
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships quickly and influence at all levels in the business.
  • Highly inquisitive and intuitive.
  • Ability to negotiate and persuade, sometimes in a setting that is unresponsive or hostile to audit findings.
  • Ability to make judgements and propose actions in the context of complex systems and risk and materiality of findings.
  • Extremely competent in report writing with good Excel Skills.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst managing competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working and travelling alone, or with colleagues.
