Continuing to experience growth over the last 12 months we are working with a Top tier firm accountancy practice in Birmingham who are looking to expand their Public Sector Audit offering.
They are looking for Senior Audit Manager with Public Sector experience to join their growing team which covers a national remit.
The public sector department is thriving and this opportunity is aimed at someone who is passionate about safeguarding public sector money and ensuring essential public services are properly accountable to taxpayers.
There is a variety of public sector organisations which will fall under this person's audit portfolio with a significant portion being healthcare and local government focused.
Key responsibilities include:
- Point of contact for clients
- Act as Audit lead & ensure delivery of audit papers
- Take full responsibility for leading and directing all aspects of audit service
- Strong people management skills to covering resource planning and allocation, performance management, training and recommendations for promotion
- Act as a mentor to team members and provide coaching
- Support Partners in group sales and marketing activity including succession planning and talent acquisition
- Contribute to development of new business relationships and business proposals through high level sales and marketing activity.
Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, ACA, CA, ICAS or ACCA)
- Experience of leading and managing an audit team within the public sector environment
- Experience dealing with complex technical matters within large organisations with proficient knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102 (IFRS beneficial & audit experience of listed businesses useful but not essential)
- Extensive experience of using audit software and Microsoft packages
