Very well established Manufacturing /Distribution Group based near Waltham Abbey in Essex require an experienced Accountant to take responsibility for the Management Accounting Information and consolidation for recently acquired/merged Group of companies Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and overseeing one member of staff Key Responsibilities & Skills required will include :
- Preparation of the Monthly Management accounts for all group companies - reporting deadlines 10 days after month end.
- Preparation and posting of month end journals, accruals, stock adjustments, HP reconciliations, Fixed Assets additions and disposals and depreciation calculations, accrued income and deferred income calculations and other journals necessary for the production of accurate management accounts
- Ad hoc management reporting as requested by the Directors and Management Team
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly balance sheet and profit and loss accounts reconciliations.
- Monthly closedown of the Sales, Purchase and nominal ledgers on the Financial systems
- Provide support with the proper coding of Purchase Invoices - checking that sales and purchase codes have been used correctly. Corrections if errors established and necessary training for the staff to make sure errors are avoided.
- Prepare year end Statutory Accounts Statements with reconciliations and notes both individual and consolidated.
- Liaise with the company auditors during the audit and other times during the year as necessary.
- Provision of national statistics return information and other govt statistics on a timely basis
- Preparation of the weekly cashflows projections.
- Upkeep of the reconciliation of the funded deals and related administration for all the company loans
- Upkeep of the Access Accounting system, liaising with their helpdesk to resolve any system issues
- Provide cover for the Financial Controller and other ad hoc tasks that can be reasonably expected.
- To provide cover for the Sales Ledger Clerk particularly the contractual billing
- Excel skill to a advanced level
- Accounting CRM's - all aspects of the system
- High level of accuracy and able to work to a timetable to meet targets
- Proven track record within an Accounting background - including a relevant Accounting qualification
- High level IT skills - Microsoft office, word, excel (advanced), outlook
- An ability to continuously improve systems and processes within the Finance Department
- Good Systems experience and reporting skills using Access Dimensions or similar
