Resourcery Group are working in partnership with a fantastic MANUFACTURING business based near Liverpool as they look to recruit a Financial Controller to work closely with the FD. This is an excellent, profitable business with a brilliant reputation.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for providing timely and relevant financial reports, ensuring information from different sources of the business is obtained to ensure timely accounts. The position holder will be working closely with the Finance Director and experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility for the day to day running of the finance function, ensuring excellent financial control environment and an effective, enquiring role as an internal business partner identifying and explaining performance, reporting, and supporting improvement of all operational activities.
Ensure the Business complies with all statutory reporting guidelines and deadlines. Involved with other ad-hoc projects/duties that may not necessarily fall under the conventional Financial Controller remit.
Core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrate consistent working behaviours aligned to the values of the business: Quality, Responsibility, Trust, Partnerships.
Fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA Financial Controller who has previous experience of working in a manufacturing business and is used to a very hands-on role.
Be capable of managing a small team and being part of the site’s Operational Management Team.
Used to successfully hitting deadlines and committed to delivering to best professional practices.
Experience of working with an ERP system will be of additional value.
Experience of working in Sage would be helpful but not essential.

- Working closely with the Finance Director on routine and ad hoc financial activities
- The management of HML’s Accounts, accounting entries and maintenance
- Support the Accounts Assistant with her daily tasks of transaction processing in Sage (Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Expenses, Cash & Bank, Payroll, etc)
- Line Manager responsibilities for the well-being and team performance of the Accounts Assistant
- The completion of local and Group monthly management reporting
- Completion of all VAT and Customs aspects of the local business (UK) including Returns and Intrastat requirements
- Nominal Ledger postings, including accruals and prepayments, depreciation, currency conversions and general journals
- Fixed asset tracking, recording, and recognition, including disposal transactions
- Monthly forecast updates and reporting for the local site
- Monthly budget variance reporting for the local site
- Cashflow forecasting and cash management
- Assisting with the Annual Budget preparation, information collating, verification and reporting for the local site to the Finance Director
- Any ad hoc Financial Reporting for the Group and Local Management
- Preparation for and participation in audits ensuring completion of any audits that are required for the UK, internally or externally, including ISO, Tax and Statutory reporting for the UK
- Ensuring that the Credit Policy is maintained, including continual assessment of credit limits and credit risk of existing and potential customers and suppliers
- Ensuring any government requirements are met, RTI, auto-enrolment, etc.
- Measuring, maintaining, monitoring and reporting all local product costings and calculations to ensure profitability is correctly maintained and reported, highlighting any products or operations that fall below required margins.
- Partnering with Operations to resolve issues and support continuous improvement
- Preparation for and participation in audits ensuring completion of any audits that are required for the UK, internally or externally, including ISO, Tax and Statutory reporting for the UK
- Continually review costs and identify any potential cost savings for the business, with reasoning and risks of any potential changes
- Continually reviewing processes to identify potential improvements
- Updating and producing annual Transfer Pricing documentation and any internal pricing structure changes with other international units in order to ensure compliance with any Distribution Agreements needed for compliance with HMRC
