Senior Financial Accountant

MERJE are delighted to be working on behalf of our client, a multinational Manufacturing company, to recruit an astute Financial Accountant to provide and manage financial accounting, statutory reporting, tax, systems support, fixed assets, financial transactional processing and payroll services to the Statutory entities and their branches

Key Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the development of financial controls and continuous improvement initiatives 
• understand and advise where new business may require entity and system planning
• Managing the application of the financial controls in financial accounting processes
• Supporting the development of financial policies, processes and procedures 
• Managing the overall integrity of the financial accounting ledgers within the Sage accounting system 
• Using the Sage and SAP systems manage the financial accounting transactions being undertaken in accordance with the finance policies, processes and procedures as well as the commercial and statutory requirements of the business  
• Controlling business balances and relationships with both internal and external parties 
• Managing compliance with the requirements of external parties such as in country tax authorities, UK and overseas auditors 
• Managing cash resources are available to meet the business commitments through effective cash management
• Providing timely and accurate reporting information for both internal and external use 
• Preparation of tax information for Group Tax and local Tax authorities. In particular, the preparation of the year-end tax packs 
• Undertaking additional activities as necessary to support internal and external stakeholder requirements
• Supporting in the recruitment, training and development of the members of the overseas team to ensure that responsibilities are discharged in a professional manner

Previous experience and qualifications:

• Fully qualified Accountant with either ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualification
• Previous experience necessary in Financial Accounting
• Experience in Financial planning and reporting
• Management of a “set of accountants”
• Own a set of accounts
