Accounts Payable, West London (Hounslow) – Logistics, up to £25,000

An established logistics company are looking for an Accounts Assistant with a strong AP focus to join their newly created transactional team. The role will be responsible for payables within a growing team, with the potential to take on more as they develop and learn. This position is perfect for candidates that know the basics but are looking to progress their finance career. We are currently only considering candidates who are IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE or with a SHORT NOTICE PERIOD, and those that can easily commute to Hounslow by car or public transport, as this will be office based.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate processing of all purchase orders and invoices by providing accurate coding and obtaining authorisations
• Creating, updating, and maintaining supplier details on the systems while collecting supporting documentation
• BACS and cheque payment runs, ensure all online payments are set up correctly
• Processing and posting credit card transactions, expense claims, and cash received, Petty Cash
• Ensure payments are made in time and according to agreed payment terms
• Responding to and raising queries on time
• Develop supplier relationship and establish effective ways of working also actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels
• Weekly and month-end deliverables
• Monthly billing, raising ad hoc invoices and credit notes
• Supporting the team with treasury management and the audit processes
• Maintain accurate supplier account reconciliations, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Provide insights, data, and reporting to key stakeholders at all levels
• Other ad hoc projects, reports, analysis, and supporting the Financial Controller

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience in an Accounts Payable focussed position
• Ideal for AAT Level 3/4 candidates or graduates with a placement year or 1-2 years’ experience post university
• Adaptable, confident and enthusiastic individuals
• Team players that want to learn
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Proficient in data entry and management
