Accountancy Recruit is recruiting for a successful company based in Colchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Newly Qualified or Finalist in ACCA, CIMA or ACA to take that next step in your career, into a Head of Finance role. There is scope for you to put all your theoretical and practical experience into a developing role that is pivotal in moving this ambitious company forward in its expansion.

You will be the inspiration for the finance department, offering guidance and support, ensuring that the transactional process is efficient and continuously seeking to improve and deliver to deadline. The culture of the company embodies a focus on collaborative working towards the seamless cohesion between the different departments, leading to the smooth running of all processes.

You will be an individual that leads by example: a mentor who motivates and encourages professional development within the finance team. Working closely with the IT department to improve financial systems and increase efficiency. This is a very varied role with additional involvement in monthly management accounts and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities with include:

• Daily management and support of the finance team: review, mentor and identify areas for professional development
• Ensure the accuracy of data reporting from all departments
• Develop and build professional working relationships throughout the company, dealing with system related queries that impact on the financial data
• Undertaking financial analysis and reporting as required, being proficient in Excel and in the manipulation of data from various outputs
• Responsibility for regulatory reporting and the processing of VAT and PAYE
• Preparation of the monthly management accounts including regular reviews of the nominal ledger postings and the reconciliation of key control accounts
• Assisting the Finance Director in the preparation of annual audits
• Production of the daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting to the Director team including variance analysis and KPI monitoring
• Operation of key accounting systems including Sage 50 and Sage payroll
• Developed communication to work closely with all members of the management team and control the finance process in line with key management objectives.
