Based near Derby, however you can work remotely for 3 days a week, MRK Associates is exclusively recruiting for a highly successful Private Equity backed Holiday business as they look for a Head of Commercial Finance in this newly created position. Our Client has seen record growth in recent years and although recent events has introduced challenges, they are confident of future growth.

This job would suit a qualified accountant with commercial, value add experience to maximise contribution by leading cross functional decision-making on both top and bottom line with specific focus on pricing, capacity and marketing investment.

This is a truly value add finance position in a forward thinking business where you will be expected to be entrepreneurial in solving problems before they exist, creating new positive ways of working and influencing key people in the business to drive profitability. You will work closely with the CEO, CFO, Marketing Director & CCO, managing the budgeting and forecasting processes for revenue, direct costs, gross profit, and marketing spend. They operate in a niche but exciting field with a turnover in excess of £200m and £20m EBITDA.

You will be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant with an obvious track record of success in previous business focused finance positions. You will most likely have prior experience within the hospitality or related sectors where revenue management functions exist to drive pricing, yield and revenue maximisation - these will most likely be hotel, holiday, travel, airline, car leasing, tour operator, leisure or similar consumer-oriented industries.

This role is an amazing opportunity for somebody who is excellent at building relationships, has proven experience of adding value through effective reporting, analysis, and modelling and who is looking for a role where they have influence over all areas of the business, including pricing, budgets, capacity, promotions and forecasting.

Duties will include:

Provide on-going business analysis and commercial and operational support as well as direction with strategic objectives and projectsProvide financial and commercial insight and advice to enable the business to develop and execute its business strategyOverall responsibility of P&L and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processUtilise, manipulate and extract data from a variety of different sources to give an insightful and holistic view of the business. Provide analysis of business performance that is affecting gross and net margin of the businessWorking with sales and commercial teams to improve pricing of products and servicesOwn and enhance marketing attribution model to drive improved ROIEnhance existing KPI reporting and develop new tools to improve efficiency and quality of information for decision makingImplement activity-based cost review of product contributionMonitor and report net incremental contribution generated from yield management activity vs budget / forecast and drive actions to manage variances and deliver target performance
