Investment Risk Analyst
London - Cannon Street,
£49,452 to £53,462 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Position Type: Full Time
Our client protects millions of people in the UK who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. Their members rely on them to look after their pensions if their employers collapse and the pension schemes cannot afford to pay what they promised.
They’re equivalent in size to a top 5 UK pension scheme and have developed a highly sophisticated, best-in-class investment strategy. Their culture combines private sector standards with a public service ethos.
They are looking for an Investment Risk Analyst to join their Investment Risk team.
The team is responsible for independent risk oversight of the their investment portfolio which is invested across a broad range of asset classes and investment strategies e.g. Equities, Credit, EMD, Alternatives and LDI. The team also provides risk analysis to support the investment team’s portfolio management process and their oversight of external managers.
The Investment Risk Analyst will be involved in all areas of the team’s responsibilities but will focus on modelling, analysing and reporting on the short- to medium-term risks across the investment portfolio. They will play a key role in proactively discussing risk exposures with the investment team and will also work on developing the approach to aggregate risk exposures across the liquid assets and private market assets in the portfolio.
The ideal applicant will have proven investment risk experience gained within an asset management or pension fund environment. You should possess strong quantitative and analytical skills and have a sound working knowledge of investment risk systems (e.g. Aladdin). Knowledge of modelling the risks of private/illiquid assets is an advantage.
