Accounts Assistant Role - Established accountancy practice based in Preston - Temporary


Your new company
A well-established accountancy practice are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and welcoming team. The firm offers a wide range of accounting services and work with a variety of different clients. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in and as an Assistant you will play a vital part in the smooth running of the accounts function whilst reporting into the Head of Accounts.


Your new role
In this role you will be required to work closely with the firm's varied client base including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. The role will see you undertake bank reconciliations, prepare and submit VAT returns, prepare management accounts and maintain the sales and purchase ledgers for the client whilst bringing the accounts to trial balance; there would then be the opportunity to prepare full sets of accounts. You will be required to liaise with the clients on a daily basis via email and telephone and occasionally face to face in order to ensure all necessary documentation is provided.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need to have worked in an accountancy practice setting previously or dealt with multiple clients. Daily you will need to be able to work to strict deadlines, be self-motivated and have a good attention to detail. On top of this you should have good knowledge of Microsoft excel and able to be personable, passionate and be able to work individually or as part of a team.
