General Ledger Accountant

SF Recruitment are supporting a multi-national manufacturing business based in East Birmingham as they seek to add a General Ledger Accountant to their team. This permanent role requires a Qualified Accountant with a strong technical skill set and someone who will take a "hands-on" approach to delivering a seamless production of both monthly and annual accounts.

Your key responsibilities will include:

 Responsibility for month end activities and month end journal entries - accruals, payroll, prepayments, foreign currency balance revaluations etc and timely reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts
 Forecasting on a monthly basis with detailed forecast at cost centre level
 Responsible for all balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner
 Financial reporting to group and liaison with group accounting team to assist with group month-end close
 Corporate cost controlling - issuing cost centre reports on a monthly basis
 Monthly bank reconciliations
 Preparation of statutory financial statements of several UK legal entities
 Prepare and submit monthly tax preparation work including VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat for the UK

Essentials:

 ACA / ACCA / ACMA Qualified
 You will ideally be a fully qualified Accountant, but consideration will be given if you have a strong technical financial accounting background
 Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
