Chief Financial Officer

Client is a PE Backed business with a turnover c £100m based in North West.

The business has now reached the stage where it is seeking a new Finance Director to help lead the business into its next stage of development. The Finance Director will be a critical appointment as part of that development.

The role

• To play an active role as Finance Director on the main board and contribute to all aspects of day to day and long-term strategy decisions where appropriate.
• Take an active lead in managing the PE House relationship
• Take full responsibility for reviewing and ensuring the finance team is fit for purpose including mentoring of key reports to ensure their continued development and as part of that ensuring the financial information is prepared in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure that the business maximises its profits and cash through controlled growth.
• Play a lead role in likely M&A activity over the next 3-5 years (bolt on acquisitions and eventual sale of part or all of the business where appropriate).
• Be the key point of contact and negotiator off all business financing arrangements which involves large on balance sheet financing of key assets rented out to customers on short and long term contracts.

The Person

• Graduate.
• Chartered Accountant (ACA) - preferably first time passes.
• Likely to have over 20 years post qualification experience gained in commerce, either in a head office environment or divisional operational role.
• Previous experience of being a Finance Director during M & A Activity. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the actual role he or she played in the process (both buy and sell side).
• Been no 1 in Finance in a PE owned business.
• Experience of dealing with large financing books (on balance sheet financing)
