RM Recruit are partnering with The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust to recruit for their newly defined Finance and Business Support Manager vacancy.
It is a challenging time for the Arts and Heritage sector with visitor attractions and museums particularly effected by Covid-19. The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has developed and implemented a wide ranging recovery plan that will provide security, create new revenue streams and allow them to continue to promote the enjoyment and understanding of Shakespeare’s works, life and times.
The successful candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities that will reach beyond finance into all operations of this passionate charity.
Your remit will include, but not be limited to:
- Leading the month and year end financial processes and accounts in line with organisational timetable deadlines
- Production of monthly financial reporting for the Director of Finance and Resources, summarising financial performance to date and explanations of key variances
- Regularly meetings with budget holders to assess financial performance, provide financial management information, analysis and advice
- Ensuring that the accounting for all financial transactions is in line with applicable accounting standards and Trust policies and procedures
- Ensuring the consistent adherence to the Trust’s financial regulations and procurement frameworks and processes
- Supporting the organisational compliance of HMRC legislation including but not limited to VAT, Gift Aid and HMRC regulations
- Delivery of excellent customer service to budget holders and other internal teams
- Ensuring that working relationships with external customers and suppliers are of a high professional standard at all times
- Developing and managing the Finance Team Leader and indirectly the Finance Process Assistants
The successful candidate have experience in, or a detailed understanding of, the charity and Not for Profit sector and be ACCA qualified (or equivalent). You will dedicated to providing a first class financial service to director level stakeholders in order to develop commercial strategies that will benefit the trust in challenging market conditions.
This post will be home working initially but will offer continued flexibility around home vs. onsite working. The package includes pension, life cover, onsite parking and a range of flexible benefits.
