The Opportunity

Do you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where the focus in continuous improvement rather than ‘do what we’ve always done?’ This is a profitable, complex & modern manufacturing setting.  You’ll be an absolutely pivotal business partner to the Operations Director / site leadership team as the primary finance contact on site.  You’ll be a vital asset – providing key financial insight that shines a light on performance and guides strategy and decision making. 

• You’ll work hand in hand with the operations team and be someone who loves being in the trench with colleagues outside of the finance function.  The business is performing well and the results for 2020 were superb (despite the ongoing challenges). Forecasts are firm and you will enjoy working with an engaged, enthused and optimistic management team.
• There is very little ‘financial accounting’ and certainly no statutory accounts in this one.  That is done centrally in the main.  Your role is business facing – driving an understanding and accurate awareness of the P&L and forging relationships that ensure the narrative behind trends and variances is credible and relevant. 

Youll need experience of senior management accounting / financial control in a site based manufacturing environment.  You’ll be someone keen to progress and develop and have the interpersonal skills to allow you to support, partner and influence a site leadership team and the directors locally.

You will need:

• CIMA qualification or equivalent. 
• A proven record of success and delivering change in a manufacturing / production environment where there is a sharp focus on production efficiency, reducing wasteful spend and driving best practice (& profit). 
• Ability to coach, influence and business partner. 
• Excellent Excel, analytical and reporting skills. 
• Confidence when presenting financial information to non finance audiences (and coaxing out the real reasons for variances and changes to expectation!) 
• A can do attitude and a proactive approach to solving problems individually and as key member of a site leadership function.
