A popular and fast growing media and software business are looking for an Interim Group Reporting Accountant for a 12 month contract. The company is highly successful and has had significant growth in recent years.

The Group Reporting Accountant role is a fantastic opportunity for career development. It requires you to have experience with various reporting processes. This includes month, quarter & year ends and preparation of IFRS reporting and accounting papers through to submission, ensuring compliance with the group’s policies. You will work collaboratively with the finance team to complete statutory accounts in UK GAAP and VAT tax returns. The role is responsible for assisting management and key business stakeholders with the end to end management of the global statutory compliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurate, timely fillings of statutory financial statements for the group and UK entity
  • Assist with technical accounting research and application, by identifying accounting standard changes and coordinating their adoption, supporting the Statutory Reporting Manager and finance function proactively on all accounting issues as they arise
  • Assist with the delivery of accounting training sessions to the Management Accountant team in the Shared Service Centre on a regular basis
  • Journals and reconciliations for the monthly management accounts
  • Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and compliance advisor firms to ensure quality and timeliness of outcomes at competitive fees
  • Assist with the group and UK audit processes to timely completion including coordination of timelines, completion of internal deliverables to meet the schedule and proactive resolution of any risk areas identified.
  • Management accounting; bank posting and reconciliations, preparation of cash flow forecasting, monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, maintain fixed asset register

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, ideally ACA, SAICA, CAANZ or equivalent. This role would be best suited for someone from a mid-tier practice with hands-on audit and accounting prep experience. You will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a collaborative approach to working with a team. You must be available within two weeks’ notice.
