Head of Finance

Reporting to the Finance Director the Head of Finance will be primarily responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting to be used by key stakeholders in order to better understand the operational performance of the organisation. Additionally, you will also take full responsibility for managing the entire payroll function and addressing all HR matters across the business.

Head of Finance - Some of the Key Responsibilities include:

• Manage, organise and supervise the finance team to deliver the highest standards of company accounting and credibility.
• Monitor the company’s cash flow position ensuring liquidity expectations are achieved, maintaining a strong understanding of the company’s finances
• Review the Management Accounts prepared by the Management Accountant
• Prepare reports for management as required
• Shape company compliance with financial reporting standards and develop best practices through a process of continual improvement
• Setting of budgets and working with budget holders to compare actual to budget
• Produce the year-end pack for the company’s chartered accountants
• Oversee all aspects of company payroll (salaries, SSP, SMP Pensions and sales commission)
• Oversee all aspects of HR across the business
• Carry out statutory reporting, and all technical / administrative functions of staff benefits

   

The candidate:

• Fully qualified finance professional/Finalist/QBE, with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
• Strong all round accounts knowledge
• Previous experience of managing payroll and HR responsibilities
• Previous staff management experience
• Outstanding communication skills both written and oral
• Task oriented and proactive personality
• Able to build robust, sustainable working relationships
• Advanced IT skills including Excel and ideally SQL
• Previous experience working within an FMCG environment - highly advantageous
