Fantastic 3 Month Contract for a newly qualified/finalist commercial accountant. Our client, a leading multi-national Media and Marketing organisation is looking for a commercially minded accountant to assist the commercial finance team. Completing business performance analysis and delivering timely and accurate management information. The role will work alongside the commercial finance team to identify improvement opportunities in the current processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Commercial Controller on Financial Planning & Decision Support
  • Business partnering across client teams, supporting budget holders in monitoring spend, reviewing income structures, planning, forecasting, and analysis
  • Support development of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Preparation of management reporting & commercial insight
  • Preparation and analysis of results against budget/forecast/prior year. Preparing commentary on income variances, trends and challenges, and investigating variances with stakeholders
  • Liaise with the FP&A team for group reporting and to ensure a robust change control process is in place
  • Working alongside the FR&A team to ensure accurate and timely management reporting. Assisting with the input of results into reporting system including commentary.
  • Driving the accrued & deferred income reports through the client teams to support resolution.
  • Supporting on the interim and year end audit

Qualifications and experience

  • Recently qualified or working towards an ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA qualification
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Prior experience in a commercial finance / business partnering role
  • Media / marketing communications sector experience is desirable
  • Awareness of IFRS and local market accounting standards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building capabilities
  • Exhibits a proactive drive for continuous improvement of processes and operational excellence
