Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading and well-established not-for-profit organisation based within the Education sector looking to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Part-Time Management Accountant based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. A varied and hands-on Part-Time Accounting opportunity where you will report directly into the Financial Controller and support a small finance team in monthly management accounts, development of systems/processes, aiding budget holders and payroll reporting. An extremely flexible permanent Accountant role where you can really add value and develop further. The position is currently offering remote working and then a remote/office split in the future.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve Monthly Management Account preparation, accurate recording of expenditure against budget, identifying and investigating variances, providing explanations to inform month-end reporting, along with supporting/advising budget holders in understanding their monthly management accounts. You will manipulate reports for the payroll officer, post payroll journals, reconcile payroll control accounts and oversee the record of reviewer fees to enable accurate reporting. You will develop and maintain processes to record/report sales pipeline and contribution to business support costs, ensure expenditure and income is recorded against projects, and be involved in ad-hoc duties/projects to support the organisation. You will provide cover when needed with month-end processes, cashbook, and credit control.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this exciting and hands-on Part-Time Management Accountant position you will need experience within a similar role, strong MS Excel skills to manipulate data and excellent communication skills with build internal/external relationships. Ideally you will have experience supporting/working with budget holders, month-end control account knowledge and some understanding of payroll reporting processes. You will have a high level of attention to detail, ability to prioritise workloads and meet time constraint deadlines. You will be part qualified CCAB/CIMA/ACCA or qualified by experience. Experience with PS Financial accounting system and not-for-profit sector background would be advantageous but not essential.
