Finance Manager

Interim Finance Manager | North Cambridgeshire | £50,000 - £60,000

The Opportunity

Autonomous subsidiary (circa £5m turnover) of a large professional UK PLC have an immediate requirement for a confident and hands on qualified finance professional.  As Finance Manager / FC for the business you will play a key role in overhauling the existing controls,  processes, procedures and reporting for the business. 

You’ll work closely with the highly approachable MD and assist in bringing the business to a position of having highly accurate and timely month end management accounts / MI.

The remit is very broad and will include budgeting, forecasting, cashflows / cash management, elements of group reporting, all aspects of month end and also statutory accounting / year end duties. 

There is scope for the role to become permanent but the initial project is 6 months fixed term contract (salary £50,000 - £60,000 – on payroll PAYE).

It is a lovely environment – the business focuses on providing services and support to vulnerable adults.  You’ll play a vital role in their ongoing success and management and be the primary finance contact.

You’ll provide valuable business partnering to the MD / leadership team. 

You will need:

• Previous experience as Finance Manager / Financial Controller within a professional SME environment. 
• To be a versatile and hands on accountant with a professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
• Knowledge of grant funding / not for profit environments would be useful but not a prerequisite. 
• Confident in your IT / software skills. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm approach to making improvements to processes and systems.
