Group Reporting Manager - Restaurant Group - Temp to Perm - London - £400 - £500 pd DOE


An exciting opportunity to join one of the UKs largest restaurant groups on a temp to perm basis.

Group Reporting Manager Responsible for Group financial reporting excellence, including FTSE reporting and ad-hoc projects

Purpose of this role:

To deliver quality financial reporting throughout the year and take ownership of complex and high-skill areas of the reporting and controls remit

Responsibilities of the role:

* Preparation and review of the Group's Annual Report, including analysis of income statement and balance sheet items
* Ownership of complex high-level projects, including large-scale accounting under IFRS 16 and partnering with operations teams
* Development and maintenance of financial processes and policies with robust controls to enable accurate and timely reporting
* Mentoring and oversight of qualified and non-qualified junior staff in line with the team's talent strategy
* Analysis and challenge to divisional financial submissions
* Supervision of subsidiary accounts and supporting schedules
* Supervision of key reporting projects, such as onerous leases, share based payments and impairment reviews
* Ad-hoc technical projects and analysis, including management of new accounting standards and analyst queries
* Liaison with auditors and tax advisors, supporting an effectively project-managed audit
* Management and support to monthly close and review processes
* Collaboration with and support to peers in finance on reporting processes (e. annual FTSE reporting) and projects (e. new accounting standards)

Skills and Ability required:

* Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with proven PQE
* Familiarity with the challenges of IFRS 16 and an ability to solve in a pragmatic fashion
* Practical experience in solving technical problems relating to data and to accounting challenges, including management of irregular data
* A strong understanding of the IFRS reporting regime for mid-cap listed groups
* An ability to translate complexity and risk into relevance and generate confidence in our ability to manage technical challenges
* An understanding of a FTSE investor relations team
* Comfort with consolidation and multi-entity reporting frameworks in a divisional context
* Experience of multi-site operations preferred
* Experience working as an auditor or with large audit teams
