fdu is recruiting a Financial Controller for a well-funded International technology start-up.
Reporting to the Part-time Chief Financial Officer you will be joining this client at a very exciting time of their evolution. As their first Financial Controller, you will be responsible for bringing finance inhouse - implementing a best in class accounting and reporting framework, and Financial Planning & Analysis function to fully support the business as it scales across multiple jurisdictions.
Our client is growing rapidly, hiring extensively and currently operate across three jurisdictions. You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to keep pace with such growth and implement scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Day to day management of the finance function; in time building and managing the team across multiple jurisdictions.
- Build robust financial controls, ensuring strong financial governance.
- Oversee financial reporting, including management accounts and statutory reporting across each jurisdiction.
- Support the business with a sophisticated Financial Planning & Analysis capability.
- Run consolidated reporting for all subsidiaries.
- Oversee tax management (VAT, R&D tax credits).
- Supporting other internal functions i.e. supply chain and sales with reporting and analysis.
Your profile:
- A qualified accountant with a strong technical knowledge, especially regarding consolidation and cross border accounting.
- Big company best practice financial experience, combined with ability to work autonomously in a hands on fashion.
- Experience in evaluating systems and implementing change within finance.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Professional, pragmatic and confident within a senior role.
- Proven experience of presenting (verbal and written) financial information at a senior level.
- Ability to communicate with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and ability to interact easily with non-finance colleagues and with employees at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail, good analytical skills, and ability to analyse numbers quickly and accurately and communicate them easily to non-finance colleagues.
- Experience of stock management and transfer pricing would be beneficial.
