Description

  • Provide robust financial information to inform and improve operational management and decision making to further the charities objectives
  • Ensure financial sustainability of the charity and facilitate growth and development to further charitable aims
  • Financial planning including budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial reporting including monthly management accounts
  • Financial compliance including with HMRC and Charity Commission
  • Facilitating Finance Sub Committee of the board in coordination with Treasurer
  • Support Chair of FSC in providing assurance to the Trustees in relation to financial strategy, performance and financial sustainability
  • Effective management of financial risks
  • Oversee and be responsible for the preparation and submission of all statutory
  • financial accounts and returns
  • Oversee the Payroll function and Pension scheme
  • Effective procurement procedures to ensure services are best value for money
  • Responsible for the financial audit
  • Lead with support from CEO on commercial decisions including pricing
  • Identifying efficiencies to ensure the lean operation of the organisation
  • Timely completion of all Statutory returns Act as Company Secretary supporting trustees
  • Oversight of all HR including recruitment, resource planning, pay & rewards, and Health and safety (with support from out-sourced HR support)
  • Oversight and continuous improvement of IT (and data) systems (with support from out-sourced IT support) t

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Previous experience within a senior leadership role and working at board
  • Capable man manager with experience of developing and training capable team members
  • Must have experience of working for a registered charity or health & social care provider
  • Proven track record of facilitating change and continuous improvement
  • Prior track record of successfully implementing new IT systems
  • Good understanding of IT systems including SAGE
  • Positive and solution focused thinking
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Capable of building strong relationships across the organisation and with external partners
  • Proven ability to think and plan strategically and commercially
  • A commitment to human rights and inclusive behaviour
