They are currently looking for an engaging, customer-facing Accounting Manager to join their skilled and welcoming team on a full-time basis; alternatively, our client would consider splitting this position into two part-time roles for candidates seeking a 0.5 FTE or higher working arrangement.  

Location and office/remote working splits will be reviewed on a candidate-by-candidate basis, and whilst candidates in commutable proximity of Colchester would be desirable, our client will consider experienced candidates further afield who possess both the right to work and residency within the United Kingdom.

What your role will involve: 

As an Accounting Manager, you will help to deliver a range of accountancy services to a portfolio of customers under the audit threshold. This is a hands on role which will manage the recurring compliance activity, allocating work within the team and taking the lead on ad-hoc projects to support taking our client’s business forwards.  

Primarily dealing with established owner managed businesses and SMEs, you will:

- Handle customer queries, deliver non-recurring services and ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved 

- Prepare and/or review management accounts, VAT returns and annual accounts

- Carry out tax computations and prepare tax returns for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

- Support the director in the formulation of advice to clients

- Supervise and mentor junior staff

A little about you: 

To join our client as an Accounting Manager, you will need:

- Post-qualification experience gained within a general practice environment

- Good organisational skills

- An ACA and/or ACCA qualification
