Elevation Recruitment are currently working exclusively with this fast paced distribution business based in Rotherham, to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their close-knit finance team, on a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave.

Within this role you will be working closely with the Financial Controller, managing the payroll for the business, and supporting with the management accounts. Full duties will include:

- monthly payroll for 100+ staff
- prepayments and accruals
- cash flow forecasting
- reconciliations of bank accounts, petty cash and credit card statements
- processing VAT returns
- assisting with the month end management accounts preparation

The ideal candidate will be AAT (or similar) qualified, and must have experience with end to end payroll, but will also bring the following skills, experience and competencies:

- self motivated and enthusiastic disposition
- strong organisational skills
- experience supporting with some aspects of month end accounts process
- end to end payroll experience essential
- Sage accounting package preferred
