The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions.  Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Assistant Project/Management Accountant.  The purpose of the role is to ensure the timely submission of accurate grant claims and control of project costs.

The Role

As the Assistant Project/Management Accountant you will liaise with Project Managers, external funders and external auditors to ensure the timely receipt of grant funding. You will also be working with budget holders to ensure costs are managed, accurate budgets and forecasts are produced, and accurate reports are provided in a timely manner. 

Inputting journals into the finance system and generating the relevant reports.
Reviewing time and material inputs and investigating project variances.
Management of grant funding claims on a monthly basis, liaison with Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Support the cash planning and P&L budgeting and forecasting processes. 
Acting as a key point of contact for budget holders, supporting these internal customers, preparing the monthly management accounts.
Supporting year end accounting processes and statutory audit requirements.


The Person

The Assistant Project/Management Accountant role is best suited to someone who enjoys routine, working to tight deadlines and enjoys communicating with finance and non-finance staff. 

You will also be able to demonstrate a level of autonomy with supervision required in more complex tasks. Suitable candidates will ideally be part qualified and actively studying CIMA/ACCA/ACA. 

You will be part of a small team and will be expected to support other team members.
