Financial Controller

Your new company
Due to continued growth my client a highly successful privately owned business with a brand committed to delivering innovation and quality are looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join them as Financial Controller their business is based near Colchester, Essex.

Your new role
As Financial Controller you will work closely with the Finance Director and board and take responsibility for managing the finance function, training and developing the team, leading on the project to drive efficiency in systems, process and controls.
Key responsibilities:
Managing the finance team
Production and review of the statutory reporting in line with FRS 102
Monthly management reporting and board pack
Budgeting and forecasting
Cashflow reporting
VAT returns and R & D Claims
Intercompany accounting
Overseeing payroll
Overseeing Credit Control and Accounts Payable
Liaising with banks and auditors and other professional bodies
Managing the annual audit
Systems development and process improvement
Providing business partner support to the business on new commercial opportunities and business performance.



What you'll need to succeed
The Financial Controller will be a qualified Accountant with good technical knowledge gained within an accountancy firm and or industry, previous experience within the construction or engineering sector desirable.
You will be ambitious and looking for a career move to further develop your skills, knowledge and experience.
The Financial Controller will be a good people manager who enjoys training and developing a team, streamlining processes and controls and developing the quality and timeliness of reporting.
You will be a confident communicator, commercially focused and enjoy working closely with all levels of the business to provide support and influence to add value to the business.
