Employment Tax Assistant Manager / Manager Job, Highly Reputable CA Firm, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen

Your new company
A longstanding, large and independent mid-tier firm with over 10 offices in the UK and 100 tax specialists is partnered with Hays in order to recruit an Employment Tax Assistant Manager or Manager. From sole operators to major national companies, the firm tailors its support to businesses whether they focus on domestic or international ambitions. By listening, understanding and building relationships, they are trusted and reputable advisers. The firm encourages and facilitates creative and innovative approaches to deliver the required results across Audit, Accounts, Payroll, Business Advisory, Corporate Finance and Tax. In line with this, they have experienced sustained growth, made a number of high-profile appointments and pursue novel operational approaches. A particular example of this is the Employment Tax Team. Given the increased demand for their employment consultancy services, the firm is looking to make a number of additions to this small yet successful and critical remit.

Your new role
As the Employment Tax Assistant Manager or Manager, you will operate within a growing department of 3 specialists and a wider support team. Reporting to the Director, you will manage and support employment tax consultancy projects for a diverse range of clients across industries such as sport, food & drink, manufacturing and financial services. Technical work will cover a variety of areas, such as employment status, IR35, PAYE, Benefits and Expenses, National Minimum Wage, Construction Industry Scheme, termination payments, tax due diligence and HMRC investigations among other things. You will also provide workshops for clients and attend meetings regularly, supporting the development of business. Further to this, you will support the development of more junior staff members, reviewing work and delivering internal training.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a strong technical knowledge of Employment Tax with the confidence to deliver this to clients in a one-to-one or group setting. Ideally, you will hold a relevant qualification, such as CA, ACA, ACCA, ATT and/or CTA. You will be a dynamic individual with strong motivation and the ability to work well in a small team as part of a national firm.

What you'll get in return
In addition to joining a leading independent CA firm with an exceptional reputation, you will receive a competitive salary. You will also receive a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, 34 days annual leave, the ability to gain/buy/sell further holidays, life insurance, and discretionary and introductory bonuses. Remote and flexible working arrangements are also available during normal circumstances. Presently, it is entirely home-based.
