Since its formation just over five years ago this business has enjoyed steady growth led by a visionary entrepreneur. They have successfully disrupted their sector and recent investment in new technology has positioned the company for accelerated growth over the next few years. They have a loyal and diverse customer base, including some leading brand manufacturers and have recently secure contract wins with local authorities. As one of the only businesses in the UK operating in their field the future looks extremely bright for this company as they look to win more work and introduce new services.

As part of their long term plan they would now like to recruit a Financial Controller to manage the finance team and report into the MD, ideally someone who has the potential to be Finance Director in a few years time as the business continues to expand. The role requires an ambitious individual with previous experience of working in a growing SME, someone who can improve processes, use initiative to resolve problems and be part of a senior management team tackling the variety of issues that arise in a dynamic, innovative business. Duties for this Financial Controller position will be:

•    Producing the monthly management accounts
•    Preparing sales and margin analysis by customer / product
•    Developing MI on key operational business metrics
•    Cashflow forecasting and management of working capital
•    Creating the budget and reporting on variances
•    Assessing CAPEX and new projects
•    Pricing new contracts and supporting tenders
•    Responsible for year end accounts, tax and HMRC matters

Good experience with Excel would be useful in this role as the Directors are keen to develop more analysis to move the business forward, reduce cost and drive efficiency. You will also be responsible improving systems and processes, managing and developing the existing staff to ensure financial information is prepared to a high standard for internal and external stakeholders.

An accountancy qualification would be preferred but is not essential for this role although candidates must have experience of leading an accounts office. A tenacious mind-set and a natural sense of curiosity to look at better ways of doing things are the key characteristics my client is looking for. This is a great opportunity to make your mark in a unique, fast moving business so please apply now for immediate consideration.
