Management Accountant | Rotherham | £28,000 - £35,000

The Opporunity

Thriving SME that have experienced incremental growth in turnover and profitability since 2017 (despite the conditions of 2020!) have a superb opportunity for a confident Management Accountant / Company accountant.

Working closely with the FD for the privately owned group you will have responsibility for the overall financial reporting and financial management for one of the expanding entities within the group. You will be responsible for; management accounts preparation, variance analysis, supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash management, MI and KPI reporting, balance sheet recs, VAT returns – the full shooting match (with support and mentoring from the Finance Director).

This is a great role for either:

  • Someone wanting to progress who can use the breadth of the role and the support on offer to widen their experience and develop within the group.
  • Someone who is comfortable at this level and enjoys being company accountant for an SME (<£5m turnover).

You will be:

  • Someone confident in producing management accounts (P&L / BS) for a smaller business / subsidiary.
  • Someone open to learning and with a proactive approach to making processes slicker and more efficient.
  • Able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of Excel (pivots / lookups as a minimum).
  • A hands on individual able to meet deadlines and manage their own time and workload effectively.
  • Someone keen to have a really broad and varied finance role in a professional and thriving group.
  • CIMA / ACCA qualified or part qualified ideally

You’ll enjoy a busy and challenging role but sensible work life balance. You’ll be working for a highly approachable, experienced and supportive FD who is able to offer plenty of encouragement and guidance where required. You will need a solid foundation of a core accounting skills either from another SME or potentially from practice.
