Hays Senior Finance are working with a long-term client in the Chester area who are looking to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager due to ongoing business growth. This business is embedded into the local area and known to be one of the best employers. The business is now looking for a Commercial Finance Manager with strong financial acumen to business partner their sales team. You will be responsible for accurate reporting and insightful commercial analysis to support and challenge the team to ensure the delivery of commercial targets.

Key duties will include;

• Ensure accurate reporting and understanding of divisional commercial performance
• Provide insightful analysis to support and enhance the sales and margin performance, proactively challenging performance when required
• Responsible for budgeting and forecasting process and providing deep variance analysis of actual performance versus budget
• Support the divisional team with supplier negotiations providing deep understanding and analysis of supplier profitability as well any impacts of costs and retail movements
• Lead pricing process to measure the competitiveness of our prices within the market and drive appropriate corrective action
• Proactively support the Director in reporting variances to budgeted sales and profit to enable forward looking decision making that protects the business P&L
• Provide divisional team with market data to support commercial decision making
• Review trading forecast in line with marketing cycle, identifying forecast performance against targets as well as highlighting any risks and opportunities

We are looking for qualified accountants with a proven background in commercial roles from larger businesses. Previous roles can include Financial Analyst, Commercial Analyst, Finance Business Partner, Commercial Accountant etc. You should have proven analytical skills and be used to dealing with large data sets within a fluctuating market. Previous experience within a sales driven, FMCG or Retail sector would be advantageous.
