Bookkeeper, Senior Bookkeeper - Accountancy Practice

An excellent opportunity has arisen based near Faversham to join a growing firm of accountants as a key addition as Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper, working on a mixed and varied client base covering bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT and cloud accounting!

A highly successful and positively growing accountancy practice based near Faversham, Kent. The business has been undergoing continued and sustained positive growth through referrals and new business generation. The directors have clear growth plans and vision, providing a supportive environment and has a loyal, long serving team.

The firm has embraced online accounting moving clients onto Sage, Xero & Quickbooks, and whilst experience with this will be ideal, a background working on similar software is equally of interest and transferable.

Description

Joining as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper, you will take responsibility for the delivery of bookkeeping services, up to extended trial balance, preparation of VAT returns and potential involvement with year end accounts and tax work as well, dependent on the background and experience of the right professional.

You will work on varied clients, mostly on Xero, across a variety of industries and turnovers. Clients are primarily limited companies, OMBs. Alongside this they act for a significant number of smaller sole traders, start-ups and larger clients are into the £millions in turnover.

• Bookkeeping, VAT returns and Management Accounts
• Account reconciliations
• Purchase and Sales Ledger Processes
• Year End adjustments up to Trial Balance stage
• Opening balance adjustment
• Journals
• Converting new clients from existing systems and training them at their premises
• Working on cloud accounting software and other systems
• Experience of Payroll would be advantageous

Profile

The firm is looking to consider a wide range of backgrounds and experience for this role. For instance, you may be an AAT qualified technician, or you may have developed your career through experience to date only and be looking to build further on this, in a hands on role.

Most importantly, as a key requirement to be considered for this role and firm, you will have developed experience, preparing any of the following - VAT returns, bookkeeping etc. within an accountancy practice firm of any size.

You will have at least three years or ideally more experience, developed across any of these areas within an accounting firm.

Job Offer

£24,000 - £30,000 dependent on the background and experience of the right professional, plus benefits.
