Title: Data Engineer - VC Backed Business
Location: Manchester
£600 per day

As a result of a surge of new investment opportunities, this VC backed business is looking for a commercially savvy Data Engineer for a 3 month contract. You will join their award winning team of Analytics experts to shape the investment team and Data Scientists on package development ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent through ongoing projects.

Reporting into Specific responsibilities will cover:

- Increasing the efficient of investment analysis via Build, develop and productionise toolsets and models to be used in pricing, acquisition and revaluation
- Creation of ad hoc models for valuation of varying asset types
- Development and implementation of the pricing and framework
- Technical input into and knowledge sharing during all Decision Science projects;
- Collaborating with data scientists and architects on several projects

The ideal candidate will be an experienced data package builder and data wrangler who is excited by the prospect of solving business problems using their technical skills (be it from optimising models or building from scratch)

Applicants should possess;

- Strong coding ability (Sql, Python, Pyspark or some other programming language) with a passion to solve business problems through coding
- Experience of cloud based analytics packages (Scala, Databricks)
- Understanding of Machine Learning methodologies (Markov chain Monte Carlo, Decision Tree, Random Forest etc)
- Technical expertise with data models, python package development, deployment of predictive models to cloud solutions, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Highly educated in a quantitative subject (Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science etc)
