Group Accountant - Real Estate. OUR CLIENT is a niche private, HNWI owner-managed Pan-European real estate investment and management business with a strong record of delivery within commercial asset management and portfolio financings and who have a reputation of dealing with complex transactions. They are now seeking an experienced and solid Group Financial Accountant with strong financial stewardship to join their experienced and established team and to work alongside the Directors. THE ROLE - As the Group Accountant your core duties and responsibilities will include the following for both their direct interests and client mandates:

UK:

  • Preparation of monthly / quarterly / annual management accounts for UK entities, including monitoring purchase / sales ledger, facilitating payments, and bank / credit card reconciliations.
  • Preparation of group consolidated accounts.
  • Carrying out monthly / quarterly VAT returns.
  • Overseeing cash flow forecasting for both individual entities and at group level and flagging any cash shortfalls.
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and tax returns in coordination with external accountant and advisors.
  • Overseeing the half-year and year-end audit and reporting for a UK-based group.
  • Preparation of third-party client compliance reports in accordance with management contract obligations.
  • Carrying out the financial reporting to external clients, including bookkeeping, payment recommendations, maintaining purchase / sales ledger, preparing monthly management accounts, cash reconciliation statements, and tax computations.
  • Issuing of CIS certificates to subcontractors and overseeing the CIS process in relation to HMRC returns.

NON-UK:

  • Preparation and reviewing of management / statutory accounts in coordination with third party accountants.
  • Overseeing the timely production of VAT returns my external accountants.
  • Working together with auditors and external accountants to finalise statutory accounts and tax returns in accordance with statutory reporting deadlines.
  • Production of accounts payable lists, and payment method recommendation to the respective entities' boards.
  • Carrying out bookkeeping under IFRS.
  • Working with external advisors to convert accounts from international standards to local GAAP.
  • Working with tax advisors to prepare tax plans for UK and European entities.
  • Production of accounts chart in accordance with jurisdiction compliance.
  • Overseeing the financial reporting of external property managers.

THE PERSON - To apply for the position, you MUST be a qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) and have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience at least 2-3 must have been gained with a Property / Real Estate environment. Successful candidates will be well-versed in Excel and have strong analytical skills - working knowledge of Zero would be useful. The ideal candidate will possess a 'hands on', task driven attitude with the will to join the rest of the firm in being 'best in class'. You will be commercial, resourceful, and able to take initiative whilst also /owning' the numbers from start to finish.
