The role involves taking full ownership of the finance function and interacting with all levels of the business, from senior stakeholders to external parties and the finance team as a whole.

Description
- Full responsibility for all monthly reporting requirements including financial reporting, P&L, BS and commentary/ KPI analysis to senior management and explaining what's behind the numbers.
- Managing/mentoring a medium sized team, made up of both qualified accountants and part qualified's.
- Ensuring preparation of all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ability to challenge balances therein.
- Ensuring statutory compliance and reporting including completion of VAT returns.
- Ensure the highest standards of management reporting and pro-actively bring to management's attention areas of financial or operational inefficiency
- Cash flow management
- Ownership of year end accounting and liaising with external auditors
- Assist in developing systems and processes for project appraisals, cost reporting and forecasting to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Where opportunities arise, involvement in M&A activity including due diligence, preparation of working capital analyses, and subsequent involvement in integration of any new acquisitions.
- Provide team leadership and oversee the development of the team
- Implementing strong financial controls

Profile
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- Strong people management skills and experience of managing a team a must have
- Proven track record of reporting under IFRS requirements
- Experience of working in the finance department of fast paced demanding commercial business
- Solid working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and Tax Rules
- Highly analytic
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and external parties
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to see the bigger picture and become hands-on when required
- Ability to work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Highly motivated, driven to deliver, takes ownership of tasks through to completion
- Experience of using Navision (a bonus if you have)
