Interim Group Financial Controller

Delighted to be partnering a large manufacturing group with operations worldwide to recruit an interim Group FC, this is a true no role reporting into the FD and a dotted line into the parent company.

The role of the Interim Group Financial Controller is a senior role and reports directly to the FD. You will work with the wider Finance team members on a daily basis. Another great challenge will be to support the FD and deputise for him as and when required.

With a change management focus, you will be responsible for developing capabilities, systems and processes. You will have the opportunity to enhance the internal controls/processes of the finance function throughout the Group. This role will have oversight for high quality accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with all statutory and tax filings, and supporting the audit processes in all jurisdictions. Leadership and the ability to create and support a best-in-class finance team will be key.

Key responsibilities:

• Overseeing the Group consolidation and production of Group management accounts.
• Preparation of Board & Audit Committee papers on financial performance and key accounting issues.
• Maintenance of the Group accounting manual.
• Lead the production of all external reporting (IFRS annual and interim financial statements).
• Ensure UK Corporate legal entity statutory financial statements get filed on time.
• Managing input from the Company Secretary, Legal, external publishers and other connected parties as part of the Annual Reporting process.
• Delivery of impairment, going concern and viability assessments.
• Assist with review and challenge as part of the Group's annual budgeting process.
• Key player in managing the external auditor relationship.
• You will be a key contact for tax advisory relationships.
• You will ensure all tax reporting gets filed on time within relevant tax jurisdictions.
• Support on tax strategy and work with brand finance on effective implementation of any changes to tax regulations.
• Implement and enhance the group-wide financial control framework.
• Lead the ongoing development and strengthening of the Group's internal controls & processes.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded on a timely and accurate basis.
• Ensure a sound control environment and will constantly look for improvements and efficiencies in terms of ways of working.
• Coordinate the Group's budgeting and forecasting process including ownership of the UK Corporate legal entities.

You'll be a good fit for this role if you

• You will have worked at a senior level within a group reporting and financial accounting function. You are likely to have held the role of Group Financial Controller or have acted as a deputy to that. This role will also suit a motivated individual (experienced senior manager / director) looking for their first move out of a professional service environment.
• ACA/ACCA qualified and Big 4 trained.
• IFRS group experience.
