Chief Accountant

Churchill Howard is working in partnership with a large leading Midlands business to recruit a Chief Accountant to take responsibility for the external financial reporting and development of group accounting policies.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the format and content of the Group's Annual and Half Year Financial Statements including ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- The Group's key point of contact for financial regulatory standards and compliance, acting as a centre of excellence.
- Drive best practice accounting and controls across the group including leading the training of finance personnel on technical accounting and reporting matters.
- Drive improvements in the speed and quality of external financial reporting.
- Manage the financial reporting team and deliver improvements in people and processes.

The person:
Our recruitment partner is looking for high calibre. You will be an ACA-qualified accountant who has trained within a top-tier firm. It is likely you would have applied your technical skills to a group role in industry and be ready to take these skills to the next level in a high-profile position. Although strong manager-level first-time movers may be considered. Additionally, you will be interacting up to the board level so will need to be a strong communicator with outstanding influencing capabilities.
