Finance Director

Sharp Consultancy are acting as the retained partner for a large European Group who are keen to appoint a new Finance Director for one of their UK divisions based within the South Yorkshire region.

Our client is a large engineering and manufacturing specialist with a strong foothold within their sector having positioned itself as a leader due to significant technological and automated production developments over a sustained period of time.

You will be reporting directly into the European CFO and the ability to form a strong working relationship with the UK MD is essential. As the FD you will be responsible for the finance team including, Accountants, Analysts, Payroll, Ledgers, Credit Control and Accounts Assistants and as well as the day-to-day responsibility for Finance you will also oversee the IT, Administration and HR teams.

Key duties will include.
-Reporting of the divisions financial position across the whole of the UK
-The ability to create strong and accurate results for the European group function
-Management and financial accounting
-Forecasting, in particular cashflow and budgeting
-Monthly board meetings to include profit and margin analysis
-Responsibility for process developments as well as managing the year end audit process
-Development of the current team, including personal development and significant mentoring and coaching
-Improved communication across the wider business to include commentary and MI for senior business stakeholders

You must be a qualified accountant, ideally having worked within a manufacturing or engineering environment post qualification and with significant strengths around building robust finance procedures, people management and stakeholder leadership in particular at a board and leadership level.

High levels of drive and gravitas are essential as the ideal candidate will be familiar with group reporting, ideally having worked within a UK subsidiary of a large European or International business previously.
