THE COMPANY:

This business is a leading UK brand who have experienced huge growth over the last 18 months.

They have fantastic Head Offices based in Leeds, and due to further expansion plans for 2021, they are now looking to hire a Stock Accountant to join their finance team in a standalone role, and report directly to the Financial Controller.

This role is an exciting new cross functional role, which requires close collaboration with the purchasing team, operational teams and the tech team, to deeply understand and improve the business's ability to have the right stock in the right place, at the right time.

THE JOB:

The key duties of this role will include:

  • Ensuring that stock levels remain aligned across 2 key systems
  • Analysing stock movements daily to identify unusual trends
  • Detailed review of stock adjustments and working with the operations teams to better understand and ultimately prevent unnecessary adjustments
  • Regular review of stock holding and the system driven ordering levels to ensure appropriate level of stock
  • Aged stock review and ownership of key actions to reduce aged stock
  • Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure ordering levels are appropriate to achieve supplier targets whilst not over ordering, ultimately improving gross margin.
  • Back order management - investigation into they key drivers of back orders and take the necessary actions to prevent in the future.
  • Working closely with the goods in teams, provide insight as to the performance of suppliers and goods in to optimise stock availability
  • To make use of all available reporting and develop new reports to track the flow of stock through the business, working closely with the commercial team and operations teams to identify opportunities to improve availability and process

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar stock accounting role - Essential
  • Have experience of working in an organisation with extremely high volumes of stock transactions - Essential
  • Be part or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA - Desirable not essential
  • Have the ability to use Excel at an advanced level - Essential
