Summary
Our Client - a not-for-profit organisation based in Loughborough - is seeking an enthusiastic, committed & qualified FP&A Accountant.
The purpose of this role is to lead in the delivery of all financial planning, reporting & analysis. This is a key position within the management team, supporting the organisation with the operation of circa thirty-five sites across the country, with an annual budget of £100m.
This is not your typical not-for-profit as it combines the very best aspects of private sector enterprise with public sector service. The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of part-qualified accountants / finance assistants. Your collective objective is to deliver & report on all internal financial planning & analysis matters to a variety of key stakeholders across the organisation for multiple sites. Your principal duties will include:
*Production of monthly management accounts,
*Preparation of annual budgets,
*Setting out a 3-year plan for the department,
*Quarterly re-forecasting,
*Undertaking data / analysis requests for key stakeholders on an adhoc basis,
*Modelling & producing financial reports & advice to support organisational objectives / verify overall strategy.
In addition, you will also be expected to:
*Manage & review the preparation of commentaries accompanying your department's financial reports, including those presented to Board Members,
*Monitoring staff / department KPI's on a monthly basis, particularly those surrounding key ratios & maintaining data quality,
*Working effectively with team members to consistently deliver improvements in FP&A & reporting, together with all financial processes & procedures (including system improvement projects),
*Undertaking any other adhoc duties related to the role.
The Right Person
Our Client is seeking an individual who is able to inspire & lead their team to deliver consistent improvements across the entire finance function, trickling across to the wider organisation. Accordingly, it is essential that applicants possess the following experience:
*You should be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent),
*Demonstrable experience managing the forecasting & reporting functions across multiple sites for a variety of key stakeholders,
*A successful track-record of mentoring, developing & management of finance teams,
*Experience with process mapping & design - together with implementation / project work,
*This opportunity is unique in the way it combines the qualities of a not-for-profit organisation with that of blue-chip private firms. It therefore follows that the ideal person should possess experience in these areas. Charitable trust, healthcare, NGO or further education sector experience would also be a distinct advantage.
In terms of knowledge, qualities & skillsets, the right candidate should be able to demonstrate:
*Effective verbal & written communication skills, confident in presenting concise financial information to colleagues / senior management (incl. non-finance staff),
*Highly numerate, analytical with a fastidious attention to detail,
*Experience / evidence of using a variety of finance systems… the ability to adapt to new packages & processes,
*Excellent planning, organisation & deadline time-keeping skills… a proactive & self-motivated team member who is able to inspire their colleagues to deliver consistent results,
*A person of the highest integrity - able to foster trust amongst colleagues / maintain confidentiality - all the while promoting & safeguarding the welfare of children / young people,
*Strong IT skills incl. Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills to an advanced standard,
*Be willing & able to undertake UK-wide travel.
