Technical Project Accountant | London | Up to £75k pro rata + Benefits | Business Services / Consultancy Services / Property

 

Working closely with the Remediation Project Lead, the Technical Project Accountant will be heavily involved in creating the roadmap for the project. This will require extensive interaction with various teams across the organisation to fully understand existing process and policies and where improvements need to be made  in order to achieve objectives. Additionally, the role holder will offer support in creating the framework for measuring balance sheet clearance activities, stakeholder communication and the escalation process.

 

Once the road map is in place, the Technical Project Accountant will review and approve transactions documented by third party support teams and clear balance sheet items whilst continuously looking to improve processes and increase the rate of clearance. 

 

Technical Project Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside the project lead to create a roadmap by reviewing and modifying the “current state” of policies and process to clear the balance sheet
  • Defining policies and processes to be followed
  • Standardising all inputs/outputs to the process

  • Standardising all data management (use of Teams/SP/email/WD etc)

  • Policies and processes may need to be enhanced or updated to support the efficient execution of the clearance activities and this would involve liaison with global and local process owners, global policy owners and operational leads

  • Support the onboarding and training of the project team

  • Support the training and awareness of the wider stakeholder community

  • Help to define project baseline, baseline management and clearance data capture processes

  • Through the creation of the roadmap, this role will need to engage with various SMEs and personnel that are involved in the process to gain a full view of how remediation is performed and interacts across our systems

 

Remediation

  • Major part of the role will be to be the formal Approver for requested transactions for balance sheet clearance – reviewing documentation to ensure process and policy have been followed
  • Manage back to root cause any identified issues with requested transactions and working with the project lead, put in place an action to address including updating the roadmap, managing exception through the defined exception process or identifying additional training needs/gaps
  • Providing updates to Country Controllers and other identified stakeholders
  • Support tracking and project related reporting
  • Identify ways of increasing rate of clearance

     

 

Experience required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Experience of working in multinational organisation
  • Exemplary technical accounting skills
  • Experience of Intercompany transactions in a multinational environment
  • Experience of Workday an advantage
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organised and accurate with strong attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Possess an enquiring mind with the ability to find solutions in a complex environment
  • Ability to forge strong working relationship with senior members of the finance team
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
