Financial Reporting Accountant

International engineering consultancy business based on the outskirts of Wakefield require an experienced Financial Accountant/Commercial Reporting Accountant to join their Finance team in a newly created role. Within easy commute of Leeds, Bradford, York and Huddersfield the role offers an extremely wide variety of duties which will include:

*Maintaining the integrity of financial accounts by regular review and ensuring control accounts and reconciliations are completed.
*Monitor and review both internal and external processes and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice are adhered to.
*Ensure that bank and cash is effectively managed and accurately recorded across the Group.
*Oversee compliance with VAT and CIS, monthly/quarterly returns and annual reviews.
*To ensure that statutory accounts are prepared in accordance with current accounting requirements.
*Liaising with external auditors in preparation of financial statements.
*Preparation of key monthly financial accounting journals and reconciliations to company deadlines.

You will also have the opportunity to attend senior management meetings to suggest improvements in current procedures assisting the business to achieve ambitious growth targets.


Ideally you will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with previous experience within a financial accounting/stat accounting position. Previous exposure to manufacturing, retail or engineering sectors would be advantageous. Consideration would also be given to any experienced ACA/ACCA qualified Accountant looking to make a move from industry to practice.
