Management Accountant

Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, our construction client who are industry experts are looking for a Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

You would be responsible for a full range of reporting, analysis, and forecasting functions and report directly into the Head of Finance.

The successful individual will an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with a strong academic background. This person will have strong attention to details and will be commercial minded with the ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks. Good excel and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Duties will include:

Reporting

• Liaise with commercial project teams to obtain information required for month end accounting.
• Scrutinise and question information received to verify accuracy.
• Perform month end close procedures.
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Help with year-end audit process.
• Take ownership of Property company accounting and reporting.

Analysis

• Review and analyse revenue and cost trends.
• Act as a business partner to other functions in the business who rely on financial data.
• Prepare monthly overheads review for presentation to Directors.

Forecasting

• Assist with the annual forecast and quarterly re-forecast process.
• Track revenue pipeline.
• Review overheads forecast and target cost savings where possible.

Other

• Review all VAT and CIS returns prior to submission.
• Assist Head of Property with any financial analysis required.
• Help roll out of new finance system.
