Financial Accountant

Following an internal promotion this manufacturing company is seeking to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant so supervise the finance function. The key objective of this position is to allow the Head of Finance to concentrate on more strategic issues so you will manage a small team to ensure all daily, monthly and annual accounting requirements are controlled and reported correctly. The role offers excellent prospects to become Finance Manager after a short period.

This would be an excellent opportunity for an ACCA / CIMA or ACA qualified Accountant to join a business that has had a lot of investment recently from its parent company and is about to embark on a significant ERP implementation so there is plenty going on. The key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant / Finance Manager will be:

• Producing the monthly management accounts
• Head office reporting via Cognos
• Month end close ensuring all transactions are reported correctly
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Cash management and cashflow forecasting
• Assisting with the annual budgeting
• Maintaining fixed asset register
• FX management
• Producing the annual accounts and liaising with auditors
• VAT returns, tax computations and HRMC matters

The business generates a high volume of activity in accounts payable so the ability to automate and improve systems would be highly advantageous in this role. Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly reporting under IFRS would also be desirable.
