Investment Director - Private Equity

Our client is a leading national investment business specialising as an investor in both privately owned SMEs and quoted high growth businesses.  Flexible funding arrangements (equity and/or debt) are offered up to c£15m, in addition to follow-on funding for further investment.  They have an impressive track record of exiting investments with strong returns.

A high-profile Investment Director is now required to expand the team in Leeds.

Specific duties involve:

• Identify / originate new investments and follow-on investments across the Yorkshire and North East region;
• Leading / working as part of deal teams to assess, structure, negotiate and execute investment opportunities;
• Sitting on Portfolio company boards – influencing change where required;
• Participation in the negotiation and execution of the exit process for portfolio companies, which will involve co-ordinating teams of advisors including bankers, lawyers and accountants;
• Mentoring / management of the junior investment members of the team.

Potential Candidates will possess the following profile:

• Strong academic background.  Qualified accountant and/or other relevant qualification (such as MBA or Corporate Finance qualification) would be preferred, but not essential;
• Financial or commercial background with transactional experience, most likely gained in Lead Advisory, Corporate Recovery, Consulting, a Corporate role in industry or a Private Equity Investment role;
• Excellent analytical and commercial skills, ideally with a well-developed local network.

You will be self-driven, results-oriented with a clear focus on quality and performance, as well as ideally (though not essentially) having experience in growth capital or private equity investment; an excellent track record of investment execution and management.   This is an exceptional Investor opportunity within the Yorkshire / North East market.
