Entrepreneurial ACA ACCA qualified practice accountant for small but growing firm in Bournemouth


You will be working for a small but growing firm in Bournemouth and this new senior role will be instrumental in driving the firm forwards both with internal development initiatives and growth through acquisition.

This role will suit a qualified Chartered Accountant focused on client delivery and with an entrepreneurial spirit who is keen to work alongside the business owner in all aspects of running the firm.

Established for 15 years, the firm has c300 clients including multiple High Net Worth and around 70 Limited Companies and their Directors, and undertakes a wide range of work for its loyal and diverse client base including business advisory, accounts preparation, personal and corporate tax, VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.

This is a varied and versatile role where you will lead, coach and mentor the team of 3 staff; act as principal of the firm in all client relationships, ensuring quality, accuracy and client service; help grow the client base through new marketing, branding and outreach initiatives and improve internal processes to streamline and digitise the practice.

You will also assist the current owner with optimising the profitability of the business, up-keeping ICAEW practice assurance and standards, assisting with he strategic objective of growth through acquisition of other local practices and growing fee income organically and acquisitively over the next three years.

Ideally you will be a fully qualified ACA (or ACCA) with extensive experience in public practice experience, ideally with a small/medium sized firm with a minimum of 5 years experience. You will have proven experience of motivating and managing a loyal team and have the professionalism and gravitas to be the leading face of the firm. You will be entrepreneurial and ambitious and someone who embraces change and continuous improvement.

In return you will receive a negotiable basic salary (subject to experience, qualifications and business performance) and a quarterly bonus scheme built in, based on profitability of the firm. Ideally the role will be full time though ¾ part time will be considered and can be built around other commitments (e. school times and holidays). For the right person up to 20% equity could be accrued over a two-year period, sharing in dividend income and the capital exit of the business.
