Finance Manager - technical and commercial skills Property experience an advantage


Our client, a property company, is seeking a Finance Manager to report into the Finance Director role demands involvement in a variety of financial areas for several groups of companies within real estate. The Finance Manager role will require working with various teams both within and outside the company including:

  • European and US reporting teams for consolidation of results
  • Investment and FP&A teams in London
  • Tax, accounting and corporate services outsourcers


Daily tasks will include:

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for several divisions
  • Review of management accounts for groups where these are prepared by outsource providers
  • Consolidation adjustments
  • Review of VAT and Corporation Tax returns prepared by in house teams/outsourced providers
  • Prepare annual statutory/GAAP financials statements
  • Act as lead for audits where required
  • Liaise with in-house/external preparers of annual tax returns prepared and incorporate of tax outputs into financials statements and disclosure
  • Preparation of reports and liaison with the European accounts team to incorporate UK group results into the European consolidation for audit
  • Preparation of quarterly reporting and compliance packs
  • Preparation of quarterly reporting packs for the various boards overseeing the investments


There is potential for quick progression to become Financial Controller and have full management for all the above aspects for these groups. This would include oversight of outsource providers of tax, accounting and corporate services.

The candidate:-

  • Background in technical accountancy / practice with exposure to audit and or tax practice
  • Experience with commercial property and/or investment funds an advantage
  • Strong analysis skills demonstrated by highly capable use of Excel and generally good systems skills
  • Self-motivated team player able to manage own time, prioritise workloads and communicate well with stakeholders of various levels both in-house and externally.
  • ACA preferred or possibly ACCA with good relevant experience and skills
