Assistant Accountant, currently working from home and then hybrid.

Your new company
Our exceedingly growing client has an opportunity for a Assistant Account role in their growing business.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant Manager will be integral in supporting the management of day-to-day finance, month end reporting, process improvements and team management. This is a great opportunity to progress your finance career.


Your new role
* Assist the Finance Manager in maintaining the accounting systems, processes and procedures
* Ensure financial records meet regulations and VAT compliance
* Support year end audit process and financial accounting work
* Deliver timely and high-quality month end management accounts including a KPI pack.
* Produce weekly financial management information in a timely manner as required by senior management.
* Maintain and reconcile fixed asset register, prepayments, accruals, and other accounting schedules.
* Bank reconciliations, monitoring petty cash, foreign cash and credit cards, including reconciliations
* Preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns.
* Monthly payroll
* Provide transactional support for purchase and sales ledger when required
* Supporting credit control
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
* Drive continuous improvement across accounting controls and processes
* Liaise with other non-finance departments.
* Supervision of finance and accounts assistants, conducting staff appraisal, performance management, training programmes and development
* Ad hoc support to the Finance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
* Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

* Strong technical accounting knowledge
* Experience of successfully managing and developing staff
* High level of numeracy, and sound technical skills
* Excellent Microsoft and Excel skills
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent time management and organisational skills, ability to work to deadlines
* Ability to prepare, analyse and interpret financial information
* Ability to work effectively across all functions of the business.
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience of working with accounting and payroll software packages
* Experience with an ERP System and Sage payroll an advantage
