Finance Manager (Number one position)

Our client, a rapidly expanding consultancy business with UK and overseas offices is seeking to recruit a Finance Manager (number one position in finance) to help support its next stage of growth.
Working directly with the Directors, the Finance Manager will be responsible for all finance matters and the day to day development and mentoring of an Accounts Assistant.
In this hands-on position, your wide ranging duties will include ensuring compliance with regulations, day to day accounting operations, analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
Your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency will aid the organisation in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls and developing financial plans that support organisational strategy. In addition, you will look to regularly review and improve policies, procedures and controls and to provide business support to the senior management team.

The ideal candidate should be a qualified accountant (preferred), close to qualification or qualified by experience and possess good financial accounting, management accounting and analytical skills. The company is happy to consider people with strong accounting skills who are seeking their first Finance Manager position or people looking for a lateral move.
Due to the size of the business and the finance function, it is essential that applicants be comfortable with the hands-on nature of the role and be prepared to assist the leadership team with other projects outside of finance as required.
Whilst the business is headquartered in central Bristol, flexibility to work from home one or two days per week may be considered once restrictions are lifted.

Skills / Experience / Attributes:

• Qualified accountant - ACA, CA, CGMA, ACCA, finalist or 'qualified by experience'
• Good financial accounting, management accounting and analytical skills
• Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

• Capable of managing and developing an Accounts Assistant
• Flexible attitude and a hands-on approach
