Overview

TCM Living is a group consisting of the UK's largest sofa manufacturers operating from four locations nationwide, and trading under Ashley Manor, Alexander & James, AMX Design and Alstons.

Previously each business was independent and privately owned. Now through the successful acquisition and integration of each business over the past five years a group company with a c.£120m turn/over has been formed.

They have recently invested significantly in their technology infrastructure, which will transform the way they support their operations. This commitment, allied to a strong consumer demand cultivated through their distinct brands, suggests a particularly exciting future for the group.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Management of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team for Ashley Manor, Alexander & James and AMX.
  • Responsible for managing the company bank accounts and daily cashflow position.
  • Responsible for the delivery of high standards of financial reporting, planning, analysis and commentary.
  • Develop the requirements for the new ERP system for Transaction Processing and Group Reporting and implement throughout 2021 and 2022.
  • Development and enhancement of group financial reporting packs, maintenance of IFS and excel databases.
  • Maintaining a high level of technical accounting knowledge and ensuring accounting policies are kept in line with changes.
  • Preparation of group consolidated accounts in an accurate & timely manner monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Preparation of financial statements, reporting to internal/external stakeholders of the business.

  • Manage the planning, budget and forecasting process alongside the FD and CFO.
  • Produce annual statutory accounts for each business entity and consolidation for the group.
  • Preparation of group vat returns quarterly and review of individual entity vat returns.
  • Manage the Group Audit with the external auditors.
  • Government statistics survey and companies house returns filed to deadlines.
  • Co-ordination of yearend tax packs and analysis for all trading companies.
  • Management of UK corporation tax payments on account and returns.  Proactive liaison with external tax advisors to ensure group remains tax compliant and is aware of future changes.
  • Management of the accounts transactional team.
  • Manage Group Funding with Bangkok Bank and ensure drawdowns and repayments are made in a timely manner.

Skills required:

  • ACCA/ACA/ACMA Qualified with minimum 3 years post qualification experience.
  • Ideally a strong practice background with extensive technical accounting knowledge, supplemented by industry experience for multiple entities.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to flex between attention to detail and the big picture as required
  • Highly organised with a proactive attitude to meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Advanced level of IT skills – specifically Excel
  • IFS experience would be useful.
  • A confident and dynamic leader who enthuses and inspires their team.
